US stocks end higher, extending market rally

US stocks rose on the back of gains in the tech and financial sectors ahead of earnings reports this week from companies including Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Tesla, and Netflix. S&P 500 and Nasdaq both reached 15-month highs, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 34,585.35. The S&P 500 added 17.37 points to close at 4,522.79, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed by 131.25 points to 14,244.95.
